Do you know through how many names God revealed HIMSELF in Old Testament days? God’s names reveal not only different dimensions of HIS Character but also point to their fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus Christ. This Study examines the Old Testament names of GOD and the particular aspect of HIS character and dealings with man that each reveals.

Elohim  :  God.  Gen 1 :1 ; Num 23 : 19 ; Psa 19 : 1

 

El-shaddi  :  God  Almighty.  Gen 17 : 1 ; Psa 91 : 1

 

El – Elyon   :  God  Most  High.  Gen 14 : 17-20; Num 24:16 ; Psa 7:17 ; Isa 14:13,14

 

El – Roi :   God  Who  Sees.   Gen  16 : 13

 

El – Olam :  The  Everlasting  God.  Isa 40 : 28-31l

 

Adonai  :  Lord .   Deut 6 : 4 , 10:17

 

Jehovah  :  The  Lord.  Gen 2 : 4 ; Exo 6 : 2,3

 

Jehovah – Jireh   :  The Lord will provide.  Gen 22 : 13 , 14

 

Jehovah – Rophe   : The Lord   or Jehovah heals.   Exo 15 : 22-26

 

Jehovah – Nissi    :  Jehovah ( The Lord ) is my banner.  Exo 17 : 15

 

Jehovah – M’kadesh  :  Jehovah ( The Lord ) who sanctifies.  Lev 20 : 8

 

Jehovah – Shalom   :  The Lord send peace.   Jud 6 : 24

 

Jehovah – Tsidkenu   :  Jehovah  (The Lord ) our righteousness.  Jer 23 : 5, 6 ; 33 : 16

 

Jehovah – Rohi  :  Jehovah ( The  Lord ) my shepherd.  Psa 23 : 1

 

Jehovah – Shammah   :  Jehovah ( The Lord ) is there.  Ezek  48 : 35

 

Johovah – Elohe Yisrael :  Lord  God  of  Israel.   Jud 5 : 3 ; Psa 59 : 5 ; Isa 17 : 6 ; Zep 2 : 9

 

Jehovah  Sabaoth  :  Lord  of  Hosts.  I Sam 1 :3 ; Isa 6 : 1-3

 

Qedosh  Yisrael  :  Holy  One  of  Israel.   Isa  40 : 28-31

 

Attiq  yomin  :  Ancient  of  Days.    Dan 7 : 9,13

 

So let’s examine, how far we have experienced the real meaning of GOD’S Names and Character  in our day today Lives.
