Jesus raises the daughter of Jairus from the dead.

Theme: - Jesus at work.
Aim: - To show that Jesus is a healer. He is able to help, even when all the doctors fail.

Jairus and family Long ago,when jesus was living here on earth, a man called jairus lived in the town of Capernaum. Everybody in Capernaum knew jairus,for he was the leader of the synagogue. He was also a rich man. He lived in a beautiful house with his wife and daughter. The parents loved their daughter dearly, because she was their only child.

Jairus daughter falls ill.
One day, when jairus was twelve years old, she fell seriously ill. Her illness continued for many days, may be even weeks. Doctors came to see the girl and they did their best to heal her. But nothing helped. In end the doctors had to say that they could’nt do anything more.the girl would die.

Jairus and his wife were very distressed. Would their only daughter really die? May be they prayed God to help her and asked their friends at the synagogue to pay, too. Then Jairus remembered Jesus! He probably had heard Jesus teaching many times at the synagogue and had also seen him heal sick. Perhaps he said to his wife. -surely Jesus can heal our daughter! So Jairus hurried out to look for Jesus

Dont. Be afraid.

In the town Jairus heard that Jesus had just returned home from that Jesus had just returned home from his journey and was still at the lake side .Jairus run there and saw jesus standing surrounded by a large crowd. Possibly the people stepped aside when they saw Jairus coming.for they knew his daughter was seriously ill. Jairus threw himself at jesus ‘feet and begged him earnestly.

- My little daughter is very ill. Please come and place your hands on her, so that she will get well and live. - Jesus started off with jairus at once, but going in the crowd was very diffcult and slow. Jesus had stop may times jairus was impatient and urges jesus to hurry up,for he was afraid that his daughter might die anytime ,but jesus even stopped to talk to a woman who was telling him how she had been healed of her bleeding when she had touched jesus clothes. - My daughter your faith has made you well.Go in peace, jesus said to the trembling woman. - Just then jairus servant came running to him and told the sad news that the girl had already died. - Why bother the teacher any longer, the servant said to jairus . - Jairus was grieved. His heart was heavy and he thought that now even jesus couldn’t help her daughter any more.she was dead. Just then jesus turned to jairus and said encouragingly: - Don’t be afraid,only believe.

Mourning at jairus’home. Jairus was encouraged by Jesus words. Hopefully he thought that may be jesus could help after all. Together they hurried to jairus’home followed by large crowd who wanted to see what Jesus would do. However, Jesus didn’t allow anybody to enter the house with him, except his disciples, Peter Jacob john.

Jairus house was full of nieghbours and relatives who had come to mourn for the dead when jesus saw them crying and wailing he asked. Why are you crying? The child is not dead ,but she is only sleeping! They laughed at jesus. For didn’t they know that the child was dead? So jesus put them all out of the house,took only the child’s parents an his three disciples with him and went into the room where the dead girl was lying.

Sorrow is changed into joy!

Jairus saw his little daughter lying there, dead on her bed.he looked hopefully at jesus wondering what he would do .jesus went at once to the girl took her by the hand and said: Little girl, I tell you to get up!’

The mother and the father couldn’t believe their eyes, when they saw the girl open her eyes,get up, and walk straight into her mother’s arms.they were so surprise that they were tongue-tied! Maybe jesus smiled when he told them to give her something to me at.jesus gave them strict orders not to tell anyone, what had happened, but surely they always remembered that jesus can help any time, even when all the other helpers have failed.

What we learn from this entire story. Jesus is a great healer, greater than all the doctors. When he was here on earth, he helped al the sick who came to him. He opened the eyes of blind, and the ears of the deaf, and made cripples able to walk. He could even raise the dead as he raised jairus daughter. Nobody else can do things like that. Jesus is the same today he is still working as a doctor, if you are sick or one of your relatives or friends are sick d not be afraid but pray to jesus like jairus did.
