God may help every woman to ponder upon God's word as God's word is 'a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path(Ps.119: 105). What can we do to be a better woman? What are our God given responsibilities? God's direction is available at all times to the God fearing women.The Problems, which faced women in old times, face women even now! but by studying their conflicts, we can gain a better prospective of how to meet both the trials and triumph in our lives. They were human beings of flesh and blood as we are. They lived with faults, passions and virtues. They had joy and irritation and hope and anxiety Before we study different women in the bible here are the few special characters mentioned in the bible: 1. Women should be faithful in all (1 Tim3:
13) According to the scripture, women are the weaker vessel, but they are made strong by wisdom and grace of the lord. No two women are alike; all are made different by God Almighty. A woman who fears God will lack nothing in her life. The fear of God crowns her life. A woman who fears God will be like a fruitful vine by the sides of her home (Ps128) She cheers everyone and is a blessing In the New testament.1Tim 2:9-10 and 1Peter 3: 1-6 teaches the duty of a good wife in agreement with Proverbs 31. . Bible Women:-
The first Woman ------EVE ! Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.(Gen2:22) The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man.(Gen2:23) We see here in these verses that Eve was the first woman on this earth, She was never born, but God's hands fashioned her. She had two names woman; Eve. Adam called his wife's name Eve because she was the mother of all living (Gen3: 20). It is interesting to know that woman was not made out of Adam's head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled by him, but from his side to be equal with him, under his arms to be protected and near to his heart to be loved. God provided a home in the Garden of Eden for Adam and Eve, Heaven was the roof for them and earth was the floor. Every need was supplied for Adam and Eve. God put him in the garden of Eden to work it and take care of it (Gen2: 15) They were given dominion over all creation. As Adam and Eve were enjoying their life in the Garden, one-day serpent came into the Garden when Eve was alone serpent took advantage to tempt EVE to eat the fruit of the tree which God ordered them not to eat (Gen2: 16-17) She ate the fruit and sinned and caused her husband to eat. She was deceived through the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life (1John2: 15-17) The consequence of Eve's sin is still suffered in labor pain in childbirth. But this is not a cause to excuse oneself from being a mother. A woman shall be saved in child bearing (1 Tim2: 15) Eve's punishment was not for her ruin, but was chastisement to lead her to repentance. Being help to meet to man, now she would be in a humble subjection. "Wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the lord "(Eph5: 22) Twice in the New Testament Eve is mentioned. Paul is reminding us that by the subtlety of the serpent; we are in danger of being led away from the teaching of a Christ (2 Cor11: 3) 1)Sin entered Garden; Jesus was arrested in the
Garden. 4)Jesus is preparing a sweet home for his bride. 5)The tree of life lost in Eden will be regained in Heaven(Rev21: 3,4) Adam and Eve failed but we can be victorious through our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Many other women in the bible will be discussed in coming weeks… |
