Touch of His Hand
From time to time I see a seriously ill patient requesting that someone hold his or her hand. The touch of a hand on a sick bed is soothing and reassuring. If human touch is like medicine, how much more the touch of the Almighty! Do you and I bear the touch of His hand on our lives?

Life: The touch of the Lord Jesus gives us life - true life, vibrant life and abundant life. In Luke 7, we see that the only son of a widow had died and was being carried to the grave. Jesus touched the bier of the dead man and commanded him to rise. Instantly, the young man sat up and began to speak! The Lord Jesus gives eternal life to the spiritually dead. (Eph. 2:1) I was spiritually dead until 36 years ago when the Lord, as it were, touched the bier on which I lay lifeless and made me spring to life. I have never been the same since. This is the testimony of thousands of men and women who felt the touch of the Savior Who said, "I have come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)

Liberation: A leper came to the Lord Jesus and pleaded, "If Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean." (Mark 1:40) Lepers were kept at a distance and were ostracized. The Lord touched the leper and instantly his leprosy was healed. Leprosy is a physical ailment which is obvious for everyone to see. How about the mental, emotional and spiritual ailments which are not obvious to human eyes? The Lord Jesus is ready to touch you and me and heal the disfiguring spiritual bruises and the festering emotional wounds. He cancels the effects of past wounds and spells liberation. What emotional gashes do you have and what mental and spiritual turmoil are you weighed down by? Come to Him Who said, "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." Plead for His healing touch and He will say to you what He said to the leper, "I am willing. Be thou clean."

Peace: The three disciples on the mount of transfiguration had seen some awesome sights and heard the very voice of God. They were terror stricken. In the midst of paralyzing fear, Jesus touched them and said, "Arise, be not afraid." (Matt. 17:7)
Dear reader, what are you afraid of? What terrors have seized you? Come to the Lord Jesus Who conquered fear, death, Satan and his hosts. Let Him touch you and let Him dispel your fears and anxieties. Feel His touch and hear His voice ringing across the corridors of time, "Be not afraid, only believe." (Mark 5:36)
The dream of the founding fathers of this nation was, "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." These ideals have often proved elusive. But when the Lord Jesus touches you and me, we have true life, liberty and happiness.
