Mount of Temptation

Mount of Temptation

There are many mountains connected with the life of the Lord Jesus. Most of them are mentioned in the book of Matthew. Last week, we studied the mount of rescue. Now we come to the mount of temptation.

In Matthew 4:8, we are told that Satan took the Lord Jesus up "an exceeding high mountain" and showed Him a panoramic view of the glory of the kingdoms of the world and offered them to Him, if only He would worship him. He also hurled other temptations at Him but the Lord defeated him each time using the Scripture.

Never think you are above temptation or that you are strong enough to withstand it. We are warned, "Let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall." (1Cor. 10:12) Satan knows your vulnerability and mine and is an expert at tantalizing us with lusts, deceitfulness of riches, and other baits (Luke 8:14; 1 John 2:16)) But if we are on our faces before God and plead with Him to lead us not into temptation, we will discover that "God is faithful, Who will not suffer (allow) you to be tempted above that ye are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1Cor. 10:13) He is " able to keep you from falling." (Jude 24)

What principles do we follow to avoid giving into temptation? 1. Recognize that you are capable of committing any sin. Our fallen nature can stoop to any depth. 2. Pray earnestly that you "enter not" into temptation. (Luke 22:46) Prayerlessness translates into spiritual powerlessness. Guard your prayer life. 3. Watch out for the lure of riches. Those who seek material wealth and are not rich toward God, "fall into temptation and a snare." (1 Tim. 6:9) 4. Read, meditate and hide the Word of God in your heart and deploy it as the sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17; Heb. 4:12) Shape your life by the principles of the Scripture and you will be victorious. 5. Flee situations that could make you succumb to temptation. (2 Tim. 2:22) "Abstain from all appearance of evil. " (1 Thess. 5:22) 6. Know your weak areas and do everything in your power to strengthen them. The Lord will help you if you mean business. 7. Surround yourself with godly people who will pray with you and for you. Be accountable to them and do not "give place to the devil." (Eph. 4:27)

Praising God.

A missing ingredient in the life of many Christians is an attitude of gratitude. Our prayer life is often devoid of thanksgiving. We are commanded to give thanks to the Lord, not because we are doing a favor to Him but because it is good for us to have hearts that gratefully acknowledge and count our blessings. Praising God makes us keenly aware of our blessings which we often take for granted. We are commanded, "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (1 Thess. 5:18)

As we have entered the New Year, let us resolve to sharpen the area of thanksgiving to God. Psalm 150 addresses the matter of praising God. We may use 3 prepositions with respect to offering praise to God - IN, FOR, WITH.

IN: The psalmist urges us to praise God in His sanctuary and in His mighty heavens. (v. 1) Where do we praise the Lord? Let us praise Him in our home, in the car, on the bus or the plane. Let us not only praise Him in the sanctuary but also in our workplace. Paul and Silas praised God in the prison. Many saints have praised him on their death beds. Let praise ascend from our lips in every place where we find ourselves.

FOR: The psalmist exhorts us to praise God for His mighty acts and for His greatness. (v. 2) Let our praise center on Who He is and what He has done. Where can we begin? Let us call to mind all the blessings He has showered on us. Let us set aside time to thank Him for the many things He has given us. Let us also praise Him for His great attributes, which comfort us. Let us praise Him for His love, forgiveness, grace, mercy, faithfulness, patience and compassion.

WITH: The psalmist calls for praise with a variety of musical instruments. (vs. 3-5) Let us praise Him with all that is at our disposal. Let us praise with singing as well as with the fruit of our lips (Heb.13:15) Let us praise Him with our material resources. Let us praise Him with our time and talents.
"Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord." (Ps. 150:6)

The Jeremiah Girdle.

Jeremiah is a prophet who was called by God when he was very young in other words  in his youth God called him. (Jeremiah 1:5-9) Lord has called him when he was in his mothers womb, (Jermiah 1:5-7). Lord can use a child to teach kings and rulers (Jer1:7-9) Jeremiah had a life that few of us would wish for. He experienced a lot of rejection. He was a prophet who did not get a lot of glory. Jeremiah labors 40 years proclamining a message of doom to the stiff-necked people of Judah.Jeremiah Shows the exhortation of Jehovah. Jeremiah was sent by God to warn Israel people, to come back to God. (Jeremiah 1:9-10). Every Lord's servant has a ministry in his life. Jeremiah 1:10 .

(Jeremiah13:1-11) In this passage Lord himself is giving a live picture or a demonstration of what he is feeling about Israelites behavior towards God.God asks Jeremiah to get a linen girdle, put on his loins but  not to  put in water. Here we see Jeremiah obeyed every word of what ever God told him to do. we also have to do whatever God asks us to do, we must obey God at all times in our life , we must not be people who please people. God told him to do this action second time (Jer 13:3) We are also like this Girdle because of our pride and disobedience we become unprofitable sometimes we loose our blessings from God. (Proverbs 16:18.) Pride goeth before destruction.Just as the girdle cleaved to the lions of Jeremiah so also God expects us to cleave him at all times of our life. But instead we cleave to this world.. And become useless and unspiritual.

Actually what God wants to make us?

The people who were fed by heavenly manna, and had water from the rock, and were protected by the pillar of fire and guarded by pillar of cloud, these people forgot God. What is the purpose of God? About these people (Isaiah 62;3). That we be the crown of glory a Royal Priest hood.!this what Lord wants from the nation of Israel.and also with us. Levites were chosen to serve God. What ever be our calling we must live for God. Israel people would not hear the word of God. People who are adamant disobedient such people condition is like this girdle. What God hates in our life is pride disobedience stubbornness stiff-necknedness, this was the condition of Israelites.

(1Pet 2:9) Lord has called and chosen us for this purpose we are called as Royal people, as his people we are supposed to have high spiritual standards, we are His Royal people. When we are sensitive and willing to be governed to the will and by the will of God, Then only as a church we will be ready and beautify into the will of God. Dear reader are you like this worthless girdle or are you among one of the royal people. Royalty is attached to the church which he bought with his blood. Disobeying God word and his commandments will lead us to rusty nature. We have to obey the word of God and cleave unto the strong lion then we will be the true priesthood and his Royal people.

Sin in our life brings darkness and  poverty. Lord wants us to be his Royal Priesthood.' God wants his people to be so close and attached to him throughout our life. When disobedience comes in our life a valley will come between God & man.(Jer13: 11) (Jer 13:12) Here is A sorrowful picture of children of Israel every bottle is filled with wine.' Drunkenness' is a sought of sleep not able to understand he wants to destroy them. why God wants to take such a action? Because Israelites are not hearing the word of God. It is always better to obey Gods word rather than the sacrifice

God likes obedience Ex: Saul. God removed from his kingship because of his disobedience and brought 16yrs old David has been chosen as king of Israel .By obeying to God we can glorify God.

Dear reader this is a small thought we need to examine in our lives are very disobeying our heavenly father? In our day to day life? Remember we are his Royal people and purchased by his precious blood

how can we grieve him    ?

Are we ready for the heaven to come  ?

For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 1 Thessalonians 5:2 NIV

Today, as we head into another year, what we have to look forward to as Christians. Today we are considering: How fast will Heaven come?

Paul talks about the Coming of the Lord, "in the twinkling of an eye". What are some things which can happen in a moment? Why do we have to watch out for little children? If you have had them, you know that in a moment they can stick their hands in a light socket or draw with crayons on the walls. It certainly seems that in a moment we go from being boyfriends into being husbands. A moment is so short, and yet, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, we will all be changed. Jesus will return quickly, gloriously, and unexpectantantly. Right now, as people read this, they (you) are in front of your computer, physically speaking. But mentally some of you are thinking about something else; the laundry you have to do, or working on that project you have today. It would be interesting to see where all our minds have taken us just in the time it takes to read this Mustard Seed. Our minds are not limited to space or function like our bodies are. They can go anywhere at anytime. Eternity is much like that.

The Lord Himself shall come down for you and me. Not an angel. Not Gabriel or Michael. Jesus will come and He will come quickly. When the disciples were in the upper room, after Christ' crucifixion, the doors were locked for fear of the Jews, and Jesus appeared among them suddenly...it was almost like He came from no where. Some have said that it wasn't as if His body weren't real, it was as if those walls, that door, and the lock weren't real...those things are temporary. Jesus is permanent!

We are not all going to die, but we will all be changed, and that change will occur very quickly.!

"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven." Acts 1:11 NIV

When will the same Jesus return? That's a question all believers are anxious to have answered What are the mile markers for Heaven. From Matthew 24 and 2 Timothy 3 we have some several to look for: Many false prophets; Love of many will grow cold; people will be lovers of themselves and lovers of money; people will be boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good. Scripture says people will be treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; having a form of godliness but denying its power, there will be wars and rumors of wars, there will be famines and earthquakes. Do any of these sound familiar?

We believe Heaven is close. we don't claim to be a prophets,  and certainly don't have a date in mind, but one thing is sure...Heaven is closer today than it was yesterday. Are we all ready for his coming?from heaven

Baby Jesus

A baby's birth is announced by the parents. But His birth was announced by the angels and the prophets of old.

A baby is born. But Jesus was born that we might be born again!

A baby is the child of man but He was both the Son of man and the Son of God!

A baby craves food. But He later said, " My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me and to finish His work." (John 4:24)

A baby sleeps but He later spent nights in prayer while others slept! A baby rests, but He later said, " Come unto Me and I will give you rest!" (Matt. 11:28)

A baby cries but He later "offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears" and He says to the weeping ones, "Weep not"

A baby is born to die one day but He was born that by His death we might not die but have everlasting life! (John 3:16)

A baby carries the resemblance of its parents but He was and is "the brightness of God's glory and the express image of His person." He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords!

A Turning Point

Most individuals can name at least one pivotal event in their lives that proved to be a turning point. Thirty five years ago, on November 18, an unforgettable event took place in my life and I have never been the same since.

I was born of Christian parents who loved and honored the Lord Jesus. I was exposed to the Bible from childhood. I heard many good preachers including Brother Bakht Singh and many others. I had theoretical knowledge of the gospel and about the Lord Jesus becoming man and dying for our sins on the cross. Yet, I had not made a personal commitment to Him.

There was a void in my life and I knew that no human being could fill it. I did pray and I did read the Bible but I did not have the joy of personally knowing God. One day, I heard that Dr. Aqbar Haqq from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association was coming to Hyderabad from USA to hold a crusade on the grounds of Methodist Boys' School. I started attending the meetings with eagerness. I was in medical school then. Initially, I was impressed with Dr. Haqq as an articulate speaker. However, as I heard him more, there was another Speaker Who began to capture my heart and I did not know it was the voice of God behind the human instrument.

I only remember faint details of Dr. Haqq's message. He said we are sinners and there is a great Savior. There is also an enemy of our souls trying hard to keep us from knowing that Savior. He said that we could communicate with the Lord Jesus as an intimate Friend and He in turn communicates with us. He is a great Forgiver of sins and a great Giver of eternal life. If He is invited into one's life as Lord and Savior, He stands ready to respond and revolutionize a life completely.

An invitation to receive Christ was given at the end of the meeting on November 18.1967. There was a moment or two of hesitation on my part but the tug at my heart was strong and I did not then realize that it was the nudging of the Holy Spirit. I decided to settle the matter of eternity that night. I got up and went forward, and in my heart cried out to the Lord Jesus to save me and to come into my life. I turned my life over to Him that night. There was unusual joy and peace that flooded my heart. The Lord washed away my sin and I was born again.

An American brother shared with me that night, 1 Cor. 10:13 and it had become an anchor to my soul when faced with temptations. Reading the Word became pure joy. Prayer became a precious experience. Now it is 35 years since that blessed day! The Lord led me through medical school and beyond. He led me in the matter of marriage. He guided me in my medical career, and in many matters where my own wisdom would surely have failed me. I had my share of trials but my Lord was my Guide and Stay. He has only grown more precious to me over the years.

Dear reader, may I introduce this wonderful Savior to you, if you do not know Him personally? The way is simple. Recognize you are a sinner (Rom. 3:23) Believe that the Lord Jesus died for you, paying your death penalty and rose from the dead to give you eternal life. (Rom10:9-13) Invite Him into your life and turn the reins of control over to Him and you will never be the same again. What He did for me, He will surely do for you as well.

Individual instruction

This November there will be an American Heart Association Cardiology Conference in Chicago. Over 30 thousand will attend various sessions addressed by many world-renowned speakers. The ultimate success of any meeting however, is not measured by where it is held or how many distinguished people attend it or how famous the teachers are. The key is how much each person learns individually.

In the spiritual arena, corporate worship and learning are profitable only if they engage the individual. The ultimate test is how much you and I profit personally. The Lord Jesus said to Philip, in John 14:9, "Have I been so long time with you (plural) and yet hast thou (singular) not known Me, Philip?" (parentheses mine) The Lord was with all His disciples for a good length of time but He rebuked an individual disciple for not knowing Him personally. Millions over the centuries have profited from the Word of God. However, it is of no consequence to us unless we personally profit from it.

The Lord gave the Sermon on the Mount to the multitudes but especially to His disciples who came to Him. (Matt. 5:1) The message was not merely for the multitude but for each individual disciple. Salvation is not a group experience but an intimately personal reality. Our prayer life is a personal experience. Sitting at the Lord's feet and learning from Him are a personal matter. (Luke 10:39 and 8:35)

What is the secret of maximizing individual instruction? First, we need to spend much time with the Lord in the study of His Word and in prayer. There are no shortcuts. Nothing worthwhile can ever be achieved without investing time. Secondly, we need to come to the Lord with a great spiritual hunger and thirst. We do not approach Him with a thimble but with a bushel. Then He will give into our bosom, "good measure, pressed down, and shaken together and running over" (Luke 6:38) Spurgeon, Moody, Bakht Singh and many others did not even attend a seminary or a Bible College but they obtained personal instruction in the college of Christ and the school of the Spirit! If we earnestly hunger and thirst, then we are promised that we would be "filled" (Matt. 5:6) God Himself says, "Open thy mouth wide and I will fill it." (Ps. 81:10)

Old and New

Some of the most distinguished and brilliant persons in the field of medicine and other fields, are very humble individuals. Although their knowledge is vast, they realize there is much more to learn. These world-renowned individuals have a fund of knowledge to which they are constantly adding new facets of understanding.

The Lord Jesus portrayed 7 wonderful illustrations in Matthew 13 and asked the disciples if they understood them. When they answered, "yes," the Lord added the eighth picture and said, "Every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder which bringeth forth out of his treasure both new and old." (Matt. 13:52) The picture is that of the owner of a house, who draws upon his storehouse of supplies which are old as well as new. Old grain and fresh produce are both essential.

We are not to neglect acquiring new knowledge by blindly saying, "the old is better." (Luke 5:39) On the other hand we cannot build anything new on a nonexistent foundation. The foundation and the superstructure are both vitally important. The old and the new are both indispensable. We need to make sure "both are preserved." (Luke 5:38) In Matthew 16, the Lord chided His disciples for forgetting what they had learned from the experience of the previous 2 chapters. They had witnessed the feeding of the five thousand and again the four thousand and yet the old was forgotten in the new setting. (Matt. 16:8-11) As we gain new insights, we need to remember the old lessons which are timeless.

The Lord may say to us as He did to Philip, "Have I been so long time with you and yet hast thou not known Me?" (John 14:9) You may say that you do not have a good knowledge base of the Word of God. It is never too late. Start now in right earnest. Study, meditate, memorize, recall, digest and assimilate. The Lord will fill your spiritual bank with old treasure of core doctrine and enrich you with deposits of new insights.

Firsthand Knowledge

When I was a medical resident, I saw the attending physicians performing medical procedures. Until I began doing the procedures myself, my knowledge was only theoretical. Theory and practice are not the same.

Knowing about God is not the same as knowing God. When one stands in the presence of God after death, one cannot say, "We have eaten and drunk in Thy presence, and Thou hast taught in our streets." (Luke 13:26) Just attending church or being involved in religious activities do not translate into knowing God personally. God will say that He had never known them.

Knowing God second hand is not enough. When the queen of Sheba had seen Solomon for herself, she said, " Behold the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me." (2 Chro. 9:6) Job said, 'I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear but now mine eye seeth Thee." ( Job 42:5) The experience of others cannot be substituted for ours. Do you know God firsthand?

Seeking and knowing God is a commandment. The Scripture strikes a note of urgency when it says, "Seek ye the Lord while He may be found." (Isaiah 55:6) God rewards diligent seekers. (Heb.11:6) It is a great joy and privilege to know Him. We are told, "Let Him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me." (Jer. 9:24) Where do we find God? The Lord Jesus said, "Search the Scriptures...they are they that testify of Me." (John 5:39) If we pore over the Scriptures we gain progressively greater and greater knowledge of Him. On the other hand, it is dangerous not to know God, because God will one day declare, " I never knew you" and that person will be consigned to a Christless eternity of torment.

Have you invited the Lord Jesus into your heart and turned your life over to Him? This is the first step to take. There are heights to scale and depths to fathom and God is willing to unveil Himself to those who diligently seek Him. Do you know God personally and intimately?

Yom Kippur

A patient with a serious cardiac problem was laid off and he lost his health insurance. He was expecting a huge bill from his doctor. When he stopped at the secretary's desk, he was told that the doctor had written across his bill, "NC," which stands for "No charge" The patient did not owe a penny!

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, was prescribed by God in the Old Testament. (Lev. 16, 23 and Numbers 29) It was an annual observance when the people in repentance were to "afflict themselves." The High Priest offered animal sacrifices for himself, for the sins of the people and for the sin-tainted tabernacle. Yom Kippur was an annual repetitive remembrance of the sins of the people. Those who complied received divine forgiveness.

What significance does Yom Kippur hold for Christians? In Hebrews 9 and 10, the Lord Jesus, as the divine High Priest, was declared not only the perfect Priest but also the perfect Sacrifice. He fulfilled Yom Kippur by offering the perfect sacrifice of His own sinless body once and for all. There is no further need for any sacrifices. After all, "It is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins." (Heb. 10:4) We who know the Lord Jesus as our substitutionary Sacrifice, rejoice in the forgiveness of sins offered by Him once and for all. We do not need to keep the annual day of atonement but we are told, "If we confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

What is the scope of atonement? In John 11:52 we are told that Jesus died not just for the Jewish nation "but that also that He should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad." The sacrifice of the Lord Jesus is for all who trust in Him. In 1 John 2:2 we are told that "He is the propitiation for our sins and not for ours only but also for the sins of the sins of the whole world." It is God's immense grace that the offer of salvation and forgiveness of sins is open to all and not to a select few. The offer is for those who place their trust in the Lord Jesus and receive the gift of forgiveness.

Our record is full of sin and guilt but when we trust the Lord, He will stamp "NC" across it in His own blood! No Charge! Yom Kippur reminds us that our sins have been atoned for and our debt has been paid.

September Attack

I was once speaking to a nurse about the subject of human tragedy and quoted Job 14:1 which says, "Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble." She said, "There is hardly another way to be born!" Since there is no other way to be born, welcome to the human family with all its troubles! A year ago on September 11, an unprecedented attack was launched against our country by terrorists. There is one major spiritual message this tragedy holds.

In Luke 13, the Lord's attention was called to a horrific event where some Galileans were killed by Pilate the governor, as they were offering sacrifices in Jerusalem. The Lord asked, "Suppose ye that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans because they suffered such things?" (Luke 13: 2) He also mentioned another event when a tower collapsed claiming 18 lives. He said, "Except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3,5)

Tragedy is no respecter of persons. You and I are not immune from it. Life is brief. Death can strike when we least expect it. A greater tragedy is to perish after death. Is there hope beyond the grave? What should one do to gain eternal life? The Lord Jesus emphasized, "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

What is repentance? It involves a radical change of the mind acknowledging that one is a sinner and that the Lord Jesus is the Savior. (Rom. 3:23; 6:23) It means believing that He paid one's penalty for sin on the cross. It involves turning from sin and committing oneself to the living Savior for ever. Repentance is the prerequisite to salvation and eternal life. Repentance was so important that it was preached by John the Baptist, the Lord Jesus, and the apostles. (Matt. 3:2; Mark 1:15; Acts 2:38)

Someone asked, "Are you going to perish or flourish after death?" The Scripture says, "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Dear reader, have you repented? Have you believed in the Lord Jesus and turned your life over to Him? If so, death can never spell doom for you but it will be the gateway to a more glorious life with God for ever.

Redeeming the Time

When I was at college, I often wished there were more than 24 hours in a day. There was a vast ground to cover and deadlines to meet. Time was much too short to do a thorough job. I remember trying to read my notes sometimes during a meal or in between chores.

Time is a finite resource. Once it slips away, you can never retrieve it. The Word speaks about, "redeeming the time, for the days are evil" (Eph.5:16) We are told, " Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time." (Col. 4:5) Whether it is facing days of trouble or in the area of conduct toward unbelievers, we need to make the best of the opportunities we have.

The Lord Jesus had a sense of purpose and a zeal to make the best of time and to finish the work that was marked out for Him. He said, "I must work the works of Him that sent Me while it is day, for the night cometh when no man can work." (John 9:4) The day will fast ebb away. The night of fading faculties, absence of opportunities, growing infirmities or other unforeseen matters will come. We need to beat the night and seize the day.

How do we redeem the time? First, we need to recognize that "time is short" (1Cor. 7:29) We need to cry out to the Lord, " Teach us to number our days." (Ps. 90:12) Secondly, we need to seek His will and cry out with Paul, "Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?" (Acts 9:6) Whatever is done outside the will of the Lord is a costly waste of time. Thirdly, let us prepare ourselves for the task that the Lord has entrusted to us. The wise virgins took great pains to prepare for their role as they waited for the bridegroom. (Matt. 25) Finally, whatever opportunity the Lord gives us, let us seize it. We are told, "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men." (Gal. 6:10)

Holy Constancy

Obesity is a condition which plagues many people. Some achieve short-term success at losing weight. But the challenge is to keep the weight off, which means a daily commitment to follow a diet and to exercise without becoming slack at any time. In the spiritual arena, absence of consistency spells sure failure while a holy constancy brings a rich reward.

Daniel was promoted to a high position because of his "excellent spirit" (Daniel 6) His enemies twisted the king's arm to make a decree prohibiting prayer to any god but the king. It was Daniel's holy habit to kneel and offer thanksgiving and petition to God three times a day. Despite a threat to his life, he continued to boldly and openly pray as before. Before he was thrown into the lions' den, the king said, "Thy God Whom thou servest continually will deliver thee." (v. 16) After spending a sleepless night, the king came to the den and asked, " O Daniel, servant of the living God, Is thy God whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?" Daniel was saved. He distinguished himself as one who "continually served God." He never wavered.

God is consistent and with Him there is "neither variableness nor shadow of turning," (James 1:17) He expects "patient continuance in well doing." (Rom. 1:7) The Lord Jesus is "the same yesterday and today and for ever," (Heb. 13:8) He commands us to "pray and not to faint (give up)" (Luke 18:1) Inconsistent prayer is ineffective prayer. The mark of the early disciples was being "steadfast" in all spiritual disciplines. (Acts 2:42)

Be consistent and "be not weary in well doing." (Gal. 6:9) If no one else is consistent, let us on our part say, " As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Josh. 24:15) Let us run the race and bear fruit "with patience (perseverance)" (Heb. 12:1; Luke 8:15) Daniel was unswayed by the 30 day limit and was undeterred by the death sentence. Dare to be a Daniel!

Remember Past Experiences

It is not uncommon to see patients get into serious medical problems because they forgot to take their medications. They have the prescribed drugs at home and yet they forget to take them, risking their lives. Amnesia can have serious consequences in the spiritual realm as well.

Some women came to the empty tomb of the Lord Jesus expecting to see a body. Instead they saw angels who said, " He is not here but is risen. Remember how He spake unto you while He was yet in Galilee, saying, "The Son of man must be...crucified and the third day rise again." (Luke 24:6-8) After this angelic reminder, "they remembered His words." They had forgotten Galilee while in Jerusalem. The disciples suffered needless agony and confusion because of amnesia.

God knows that our memories are short and fickle. He has graciously provided some memory aids. The Scripture is a powerful means that the Lord often uses to remind us of His faithfulness and His great promises which we so often tend to forget. The Word says, "Forget not all His benefits." (Ps. 103:2) It admonishes us with words like "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth." ( Eccl.12:1) He gave us the Holy Spirit about Whom the Lord Jesus said, "He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." (John 14:26)

When you and I are under a cloud of sadness or distress of mind while in Jerusalem, let us not forget the pearls learned in Galilee. What is your Jerusalem that is eclipsing the lessons of Galilee? Let not the pressures of the present cast a shadow over the rich experiences of the past. What is the cure for spiritual amnesia? Reflect on past mercies and promises. Be in the Word and fill your memory bank with the Scriptures. Forsake not fellowship with those who will remind you of the Lord's faithfulness. Let not Jerusalem erase the precious memories of Galilee.

Drawing Near

Luke 15,that wonderful chapter about the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost son, opens with the words, " Then drew near unto Him all the publicans and sinners, for to hear Him." They drew near to the Lord Jesus.

Drawing near meant that they had to distance themselves from all their worries, their burdens, their daily concerns. They drew near for the purpose of hearing Him. They proved the promise, "Him that cometh to Me, I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:37)
The Lord Jesus drew near to the people disregarding the stigma of mingling with 'sinners'. He turned a deaf ear to the self-righteous people who accused Him of associating with the riffraff. Those who drew close to the Lord were privileged people because they heard the One, of Whom it was said, "Never man spake like this man!" (John 7:46)
They were refreshed by the One to Whom Peter said, "Lord, to Whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life!" (John 6:68) The people came to the feet of the Lord Jesus, like Mary of Bethany in Luke 10. She deliberately took that step, earning a compliment from the Lord Himself, Who said, " One thing is needful and Mary hath chosen that good part which shall not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:42)
The Word says, "Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you." (James 4:8) Dear reader, are you drawing close to the Lord, spending time with Him daily in His Word and in intimate prayer? If not why not? What is keeping us from drawing close to the Lord? Is it sin? Is it preoccupation with the things of this world that do not matter in the scales of eternity? No one can handle all the trouble and turmoil of our days, unless he or she draws close to God. Are you neglecting priority number one?
Do you personally know Jesus as your Lord, Friend and Master? If not, may we show you how you might know Him intimately?

Saying "No"

We are familiar with the axiom, "Say 'No' to Drugs" I know of an 18-year old boy who had to be referred for cardiac transplantation because of a badly damaged heart from alcohol and drug abuse which he engaged in from a very early age. At what point did his problems start? One could trace his serious problems to the time when he failed to say "no" to drugs and alcohol.

Joseph of Arimathea would not join the rest of the Pharisees in condemning the Lord Jesus." It is said, "He had not consented to the counsel and deed of them." (Luke 24:50) He was willing to say, "No" although it was an unpopular stand to take. Potiphar's wife tried to seduce young Joseph but he said, "No" to committing sin. His stand cost him initially but the Lord later blessed him greatly. Some refused to retract their statements of faith even when their life was in danger that "they might obtain a better resurrection." (Heb. 11:35)

The Lord Jesus is our supreme Example. Satan approached Him from three different angles, employing different strategies. Each time the Lord countered him with a resounding "No." (Luke 4) In contrast, Adam and Eve failed to say "No" in the garden of Eden and paradise was lost. Great tragedies resulted when Balaam and David failed to say "No" to their impure impulses. When we fail to say "No" we pay for it sooner or later.

Are we willing to take a firm stand and say "No" to self, to others and to things that the Lord does not approve of? If we cannot say "No" we are slaves. May the Lord deliver us from such slavery. Saying "No" is a mindset. It takes boldness and determination to say a perpetual "Yes" to the Lord and an emphatic "No" to that which is wrong or questionable. Are we prepared to say "No" to our impulses, to our tradition and to the prevalent practices of our day in order to say "Yes" to our Lord?

Blessed Quietness

A nurse was assisting me in a procedure some time ago. He had difficulty hearing me, although he was just next to me. Later he confessed that his hearing was impaired from years of playing and hearing loud music. There is a spiritual parallel in this illustration. If we are constantly bombarded by the sounds and din of this world, we will have difficulty hearing the "still small voice" of God.

It is said of our Lord Jesus that "He withdrew Himself into the wilderness and prayed." (Luke 5:16) He withdrew from the hustle and bustle of life to a quiet spot to pray. It was His habit to retire to solitary Gethsemane to pray (Luke 22:39) He asked His disciples to come away to the mount of transfiguration to spend a time of prayer removed from the noise of the world below.

What is keeping us from giving undivided attention to our Lord? What extraneous influences are hindering our prayer life? Are we allowing ourselves to be weighed down by a thousand responsibilities and a multitude of worries? If so, we would be weak Christians. The early disciples made a conscious effort to resist distractions and said, "We will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word." (Acts 6:4)

The distracting noises can come from a troubled heart. When seeds of doubt were planted, the Lord said to Jairus "Be not afraid, only believe!" (Mark 5:36) To the distraught disciples, the Prince of peace said, " Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27) To overburdened Martha He said, "Martha, Martha, thou are careful (anxious) and troubled about many things." (Luke 10:41) Time spent at His feet is a conscious choice.

Do you have a quiet place where you meet with the Lord daily? Do you consciously allot a quiet time with Him, undistracted by the pulls of this life?

The Test of Time

A medical journal had an interesting feature titled, " Drugs: Five years later" It discussed how the drugs fared 5 years after they were released. It was remarkable to see how many drugs did not live up to the original expectation. They did not stand the test of time.

In the spiritual realm, many people started out well but fell by the wayside along life's journey. King Asa started out as a good king but he did not finish well. ( 2 Chro.14-16) So was Demas, who fell because he "loved this present world." ( 2 Tim. 4:10) Judas held great promise but his end was tragic. There are many examples of men and women today who started well but failed the test of time.

The Lord spoke about a man who started building a tower and could not finish it. (Luke 14:28-30) The Word says about the early disciples that, " They continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread and in prayers." (Acts 2:42) We are warned, "Continue in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving." (Col. 4:2) We need a dogged persistence and an unshakable resolve to continue and finish. The apostle Paul pressed toward the mark that he might "finish the course with joy." (Acts 20:24) At the end of his life, he could say, " I have finished my course." (2 Tim. 4:7) The Lord Jesus had His eye on the finish line and He said, "My meat (food) is to do the will of Him Who sent me and to finish His work." (John 4:34)

How can our life stand the test of time? Press on! Do not lose steam! Finish the race! Let our eyes be fixed on the Lord Jesus, "the Author and Finisher of our faith." (Heb.12:2) Be on guard against becoming conceited or covetous or carnal. Stay the course. Our confidence is, "He Which hath begun a good work in you will perform (complete) it until the day of Jesus Christ." (Phil. 1:6)

Brighten the Corner

We often sing the familiar song, "Brighten the corner where you are!" The Scripture says that the Lord Jesus is the Light of the world (John 8:12) One of the means He uses to illuminate the world, is to use you and me as mini lights in different nooks and corners to shine brightly for His glory. (Matt. 5:14)

The Lord Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father Which is in heaven." (Matt. 5:16) The apostle Paul admonishes us to live lives beyond reproach, "in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation among whom ye shine as lights in the world." (Phil. 2:15,16) The Lord wants us to shine where we have been planted by Him. When a person comes to know the Jesus as Lord and Savior, he or she comes out of darkness into His marvelous light and that person's light is lit by the Lord. (1 Peter 2:9) There is pitch darkness around us but the Lord wants us to brighten our corners.

We cannot illuminate the whole world but however obscure we may be, we can brighten the corner where we are. The woman in Bethany could not do great and mighty things but she poured out her costly perfume on the Lord Jesus as her final act of homage to the Lord. The Lord commended her and said, " She hath done what she could." (Mark 14:8) Can the Lord count on us to do what we could? John the Baptist did what he could and he brightened the Judean wilderness for Christ. The Lord called him "a burning and a shining light (lamp)" (John 5:35) Can we be burning and shining lamps for the Lord in our own spheres of influence?

How can you and I brighten our corners? We need to be in vital contact with the Lord. Let not our lights flicker and fade. The Lord asked, "Is the candle (lamp) brought to be put under a bushel or under a bed? and not on a candlestick (lampstand)?" (Mark 4:21) What is your bushel? Is it your work or business or daily duties? May they never hide our lamps. What is your bed? Is it laziness or apathy or lack of appetite for spiritual matters? May our lamps never be concealed under the bed. Let us brighten the corner where we are!

Matching Strength

In a previous message we considered the first part of the promise God made to Asher. The promise states, "Thy shoes shall be iron and brass and as thy days, so shall thy strength be." ( Deut. 33:25)
The second part of the promise is equally remarkable. " As thy days, so shall thy strength be." If your days involve trials, God will give strength equal to the occasion. If the days include seasons of fierce temptation, the faithful Lord will give you a quota of strength that will defy all the vicious attacks of the enemy. If the days happen to include sickness, loss, injury, weakness, infirmity of old age, financial trouble and so on, even then His strength will never fail us. Whatever our days and our circumstances, whatever vicissitudes of life we face, we will find a supply of divine strength proportionate to the need of our days.
We have no inherent strength. Strength for the day can come only from our omnipotent God, Who is the Source. He promises to give strength commensurate with our peculiar needs. He supplies not only according to our needs but according to His inexhaustible riches. The Word says, "My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:19) Are you weak? God says, "My strength is made perfect in weakness." ( 2 Cor. 12:9) Is your present trouble too much for you to bear? The Scripture says, "God is our Refuge and Strength, a very present Help in trouble." (Ps. 46:10)
Let us rejoice in the promise, "As thy days are, so shall thy strength be." Let us tuck it under our pillow when we go to bed at the end of a weary day. Let us rise every morning with the hope of this promise as "an anchor of the soul both sure and steadfast." (Heb.6:19) May we be able to say with the apostle Paul, "I can do all things through Christ, Which strengtheneth me." (Phil. 4:13)

Sturdy Shoes

In Deuteronomy 33, we read of different promises made to different tribes of Israel. There is a remarkable promise given to Asher, which we also can plead. It is a simple promise, which some of us have proved over and over again. It says, " Thy shoes shall be iron and brass and as thy days, so shall thy strength be." (Deut.33:25)
In this world we are surrounded by constant danger especially in the spiritual arena. But for the protection of the Lord, we would be overcome by the spiritual enemy, who is stronger than us. We need supernatural means to combat the enemy.

The promise given to Asher is a two-part promise. The first part is, "Thy shoes shall be iron and brass." Our shoes often get worn out when we tread a rough and rugged road. God is promising not ordinary shoes but shoes of iron and brass so one can tread down all the vicious forces of the enemy.
The Lord Jesus told His disciples, " Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions." (Luke10:19) Psalm 91 speaks of the many dangers that one is exposed to but God's promise is, " Thou shalt tread upon the lion and the adder (cobra) and the young lion and the dragon (serpent) shalt thou trample under feet." (v. 13) The apostle Paul states in his concluding remarks in Romans, " And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly." (Rom. 16:20)

We cannot go to war with sneakers! Neither can we go to the spiritual battlefield wearing Saul's armor. We need the shoes of brass and iron that God alone can provide. The shoes of brass also indicate that no matter how difficult the road, the strong shoes will stand us in good stead in the most rugged of terrain. Let us remember that ,"We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Eph. 6:12)
We are no match for our strong enemy. But praise be to the Captain of our salvation Who has given us sturdy shoes to tread down the enemy with. With Him on our side and equipped by Him, we will be victors.

Thought on Jabez

His mother named him as she delivered him in sorrow that's what Jabez means Sorrow , generally no one would like to keep such a name to a new born wonderful kid even God cursed woman in Gen 3:16 "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children".
Even though the curse remains till today the same but no one ever names her child as sorrow as we see even Rebecca named as Ben-Oni means son of my trouble Gen 35:18. About Jabez nothing else in detail is mentioned in Bible 1Chron 4:9 says about his birth and 10th verse immediately tells he cried unto the lord! It amazes us what a testimony he has it clearly shows us his prayerful life we see in these 2 verses 4 things are present in his prayer
.1) He cried unto Lord with sincerity.
2) He prayed earnestly.
3) He prayed with passion.
4) He prayed definitely and surely with positive attitude.
Let s check are these 4 things are there in our daily prayers? Here we also see 4 things he asked in his short prayer
1) Definitely you would bless me.
2) to enlarge my territory.
3) Let your hand be with me.
4) and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.
To this short and strong prayer we happen to see Our God almighty answers him right away (1Chronicles 4:10) this is amazing God's blessing. That Jabez prayer is answered immediately why because his prayer shows his positive ness that god will answer he is crying to a God who has passion. When Israelites cried unto God for their bondage God remembered his covenant (Exo2: 23) this reminds us when we are in deep sorrow and cry to God immediately he answers, God cannot see his children to be in sorrow or bondage, Even Hannah cried unto lord (1Sam1: 10) for a son God answered her tears (1Sam1: 19).

Many times King David cried unto Lord, Moses cried unto the Lord to save his people Israelites- God did hearkened Moses and answered him many times. When we pray are we trusting that we are praying to God who answers our cry? Our God is promise keeping God (Heb10: 23) If we ask anything according to his will he will provide to us (1John5: 14-15) on other end if we have worldly attitude and being selfish not having God in us though we ask we do not get answered (James 4:3) God blesses prayerful person God honors our prayer life he adds up blessing as in Isaiah (41:9-10) He has given 7 promises in these verses claim them in our prayers and be blessed.
Coming to Jabez prayer it was a clear prayer,
meaningful prayer, shortest prayer
 and a blessed prayer,
secondly he asked to expand his borders, yes if we obey his commandments he will expand our borders (Deut 19:8) Jabez thirdly asked God to keep his hand with him .

Yes in this world we are blessed with lot of problems and troubles but we should have courage we should not worry because God provides all our needs according to his riches and glory (Phil  4: 19) for we serve a GOD who is our refuge and strength and ever present  help in trouble( Psalms 46:1).Blessed is the man who trusted the LORD! (Jermiah17: 7-8) So by this  what we learn is  to pray with confidence and pray with Burden in heart.

Three Focal points in the life of Jacob

1 . Bethel. (House of God)  (Gen 28:16)
                                             2. Ma-ha-na-im. (Host of God)
                                             3. Peneil. (Face to Face with God)
1.In the life of Jacob we all know the story of Jacob how he left the house after stealing the birth right of his elder brother Esau. So on… On the way to his uncles place in the midst of forest in the dark, in the aloneness in tiredness he lies downs on a pillow of stone and he had a dream seeing a ladder and angels coming up and down, here he sees a magnificent picture of our lord standing at the top of the ladder! . Are we able to visualize God in our dreams did we see him among angels in our life? Jacobs wakes up and calls that place "BETHEL" which means House of God. Gods house is splendid. If Gods House is in us then we lack nothing in our life.

2.  From Bethel he travels towards his uncles place and serves 20yrs to him for sake of his wife's, children, and sheep (Gen  32: 1)"Ma-ha-na'-im" which means Host of God. After 20 yrs Jacob want to return to his mother and father's land where he heard of Esau is coming to meet Jacob with 400 men. So Jacob when he saw angels of God he said "Mahanaim" which means Host of God. He is terrified but God showed his divine power on Jacob .We should have God's power and presence in our life especially at times of difficulty because enemy is invisible and Satan is stronger in this world, in our difficulties we can pray for his power and presence. (1st Pet3: 22) In life of Jacob after Bethel and Ma-ha-na-im a special incident happens (Gen 32:10). In his terrified state, Jacob confesses he reminds his low state and says to God I am not worthy. Are we confessing are we wakening up in our life? To come before God are we crying unto the Lord? Then Jacob separates himself and makes 2 parts of his possessions and sends all his people wife's children cattle first to meet Esau.

3.
He is left alone Gen 32:24. Sometimes in life we are also left alone in our life of darkness, fear troubles, being alone all by ourself is difficult, but being alone with God in his prescence is something very special and very important to all. Do we have that experience? let us think of September 9/11/02 many became all alone in life, some lost all hopes of their future. But let us all remember that God said he would never leave us alone. Will God leave us when we are troubled? ex: Did God leave Daniel When he was in Lion's Den, Did God leave Joseph when he was in the prison in Egypt. Here also we see in Jacobs's life Gen 32: 24 God came down as a Man to wrestle with him after whole night wrestle then God Hit him on his Thigh. So God Said Let me Go. But God didn't leave right away. Then Jacob said him "BLESS ME". Are we asking God to Bless us? , Here we see that God didn't bless Jacob right away but He asked Him what was His name then he replies his name is Jacob .It means "Deceiver" he remembers his reality he confessed he deceived his brother so he says I am Jacob, God said he will be no more be called Jacob, but Israel. Means Who fought with God., so Jacob asked him what is your name but God did not tell his name But said why you want to know my name and he blessed him. So he called that place as"Peneil" means meeting face to face with God.
In our life did we happen to see face to face our Lord? Here we see three important blessing in Jacobs's life.

1. Spiritual blessing. 2.  Divine favor and fellowship. 3.Enjoy and delight the face of God.

Fellowship with Jesus

The lord Jesus forever delights himself with the sons of men (Prov 8:31) and he always stands prepared to reveal and communicate that delight to his people. But we often incapable of returning his affection or enjoying his fellowship, having fallen into a state so base and degraded that we are dead to him and have no regard for him.  Even so, something has been done for us and in us that allows us to converse with Jesus and top feel at one with him. Fellowship with Jesus is begun and maintained by giving and receiving by communication and reception. There is this difference between Christ and us. He never gives anything to us without manifesting fellowship, but we often receive from him in such an insufficient manner that communion is not reciprocated. Therefore we miss the heavenly opportunity of enjoying it, we frequently receive grace without realizing it. The sacred oil maintains our lamps while we are ignorant of its hidden influence. There is no reason that the lowliest of us should not be like David who was after (God's) own heart". 1 Sam 13:14.
We may now be dwarfs, but growth is possible. Let us therefore aim at higher stature with the help of Holy Spirit we also can attain the high position of those who have and maintain sweet fellowship with the lord. Make every time of need a time of embracing the lord. Do not leave the mercy seat (Exod 21; 22) until you have clasped him in your arms in every time of need. He has promised to give grace to help you (Heb4; 16)
Sweet fellowship with Christ remains when you maintain a sense of your entire dependence upon his good will and Pleasure for the continuance of your richest enjoyments. Never try to live on old manna or to seek help in Egypt, All must come from Jesus or we are forever ruined. Remember how impossible it would have been for us to receive a single blessing if we had not been in Jesus. The love of god cannot be poured out into anyone's heart unless he is clearly united with God's son. No exception has ever been made to the universal curse on those of the first Adam's seed who have no interest in the second Adam. Christ is the only Zoar in which God's lots can find shelter from the destruction of Sodom (Gen19: 15)
Above all never forget that Christ is yours. Amid the profusion of his gifts never forget that the chief gift is he. Never be satisfied with something less than a whole Christ. At these solemn days meditate on the gracious acts that procured such blessings for us. Consider the labors that our lord endured for us and the sufferings by which he purchased the mercies that he bestowed. What human tongue can describe the unutterable misery of his soul? How much less can we comprehend the vast total of Christ's sufferings! But all his sorrows were necessary for our benefit, and without them not one of our innumerable sins could not have been forgiven!!!!.

Gardens in the Bible!!!!!

Ref: - Song of Solomon 4:16 O north wind, and come O south! Blow upon my garden. (Garden of God) That the spices thereof may flow out let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.

There are Three famous gardens in the Bible.1)GARDEN OF EDEN :-Which was planted by God.In the book of genesis God the Almighty has created the garden and kept  Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. In this garden God used to have fellowship with  Adam and Eve everyday evening in the cool breeze of the garden, God created them and covered them with his own hand made garments of his light and righteousness. Almighty God who is unapproachable, who is clothed with honor and majesty ( Psalms 104: 2). So to have fellowship with this great God, Adam and Eve needed to have clothes of righteousness . Adam and Eve were covered with the dress of innocence they know no sin until Sin entered in the garden. When sin came into the lives of Adam and Eve the garden was closed forever (Genesis 3: 24) Disobedience to God made Adam and Eve to loose the fellowship with God. Covenant was broken.
Now they have to work hard for their livelyhood out side the Garden of Eden ! Let us examine our lives are we disobeying God? When we disobey God we loose many things in our lives Most of all we loose God’s fellowship!
and heavenly blessing of GOD!

Vineyard :-
(Isaiah 5:7 ) "for the vineyard of the lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant". God has chosen Israel his pleasant plant he is well pleased to make them a channel of blessing to all mankind he bought them  out of Egypt from slavery and all bondage of Egypt he planted them through the wilderness a seperate congregation of his own( Acts7:30) He has done great things for his people he made the seas a dry land to walk he made the heaven a store house to feed them. he made stones to be a living water spring inpite of enjoying all the blessings of God they crumbled against him their back to God.Now to  their disobedience once God left this garden of Judah!

3.God of Almighty:- God wanted to plant a blessing to his vineyard to all mankind on this earth through his son Lord jesus christ.God is well pleased in his beloved son to give a great salvation to the people he laid his beloved son on the cross for the remission of  sins  for the world. Those who hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ repented confessed, and received Jesus Christ those will be planted in the house of God.
Any garden should be fruitful to please the gardener ( 1Cor 3: 6) Christ planted the church, Apostles watered. Plantation was started. These plants are brought out of the Forest; this whole world is a concrete forest of worldly things. Those who obey God's word will be separated out from the world and get planted in the garden of Jesus Christ. Here the garden resembles the House of the God. (Matt 15: 13 ) "Every plant that my heavenly father has not planted will be uprooted." Every man in the sight of God is a plant. Though the gospel is uprooted and should be planted in the house of God. This is the Garden of Obedience.pleasing to heavenly father God is faithful to call every bodyto have fellowship with his son.
David testifies, “I am like a green olive tree in the house of the Lord. I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever”. The olive tree is an all season plant. (Psalms 52:8) It is green for the whole year. This shows its biological nature. (Psalms 92:13)
This is the experience of King David. He is planted in the house of God. How are we?

Are we planted in the house of God? How is it possible?

When the first preacher Peter, preached the gospel, people accepted Jesus as their personal savior. This is the plantation of God in his house.
Great plantation by Jesus was made 2000 years ago. We cannot be planted in the house of God without confessing and repenting our sins
When we remember the story of prodigal son he was restored his son ship by confession with his father. Father brought the son to his house, and celebrated his son restoration. We should be restored into our father’s love. We were lost due to our sins, but when we confess with our Lord Jesus he takes us back to his garden of restoration. Are you ready?

In Song of Solomon 4:16

there are two winds, which are blowing into the garden to make the garden look good. What are these winds? (Luke12: 55) “And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, there will be heat; and it cometh to pass.”
TheSouth wind:-
It resembles hot wind, which are afflictions, sickness, sufferings, and troubles of hot wind.
Early churches or apostles were recognized by their sufferings and insufficiency and many times Paul and other apostles were in jails, while preaching the gospel.
Are we suffering for our lord? Did we experience south winds in our life for Lord Jesus!
North wind .- ( Proverbs 25:23) The north wind drives away rain:
Rain brings comfort, which is by the word of God. Rain in the bible resembles good news (Deut 32:2)
“My doctrine shall drop as rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, ” Let me teach the despaired heart the promises of God are like drops of dew on the heart.)

Word of God comforts our heart. Are we reading them? WE have a NUMBER OF wonderful promises in the bible. Read them and claim them every day for it leads us to the good way of living and being a good fruit in his garden of love and prosperity. God’s children come to his garden; visit his garden of love and mercy. We are in end days. We are waiting for his glorious coming, as he wants us to be fruitful. Let us prepare and get ready for his coming. Are you ready to receive your GOD! And be with him in his garden.

REMEMBRANCE MESSAGE ON 9/11/01
By Bro.Thadanki Vijay kumar .  0n 9/15/01 at TCFNJ .Monthly Fellowship Gathering.

This is the time we need to pray to get more compassion from our lord Jesus Christ. We need to pray for the huge loss occurred on September11th 2001in United States.

In lamentations Jeremiah cries unto the lord for the compassion and help when he saw the great destruction happened to Jerusalem of those days. Sufferings and trials are every common to a Christian life as Paul says in (1st Peter 4:2-14.) We should glorify God in our most difficult times, of course all the times we have to glorify Christ, because this is and it is the symbol of Christianity. In (Peter 1:7-8 ) Trials will increase our faith. Everyone have problems in daily life. Trails make us more precious to God like more the burnt the Gold learns to be more shiny in purity so also the disappointments tragedies, problems, may happen to make us to be near to our God. Sufferings are to be invited by Christians. Pray for the needy people learn to be more compassionate to the people who are in pain and grief.

As example in (Luke 13:11).Tower of Siloam killed 18 people of that time. Next verse we read JESUS TOLD EXCEPT WE Repent ye shall all likewise perish. Here he says to the people who are alive, he means don't be happy because you did not die, but repent, but if you do not repent still you also will perish as Siloam victims. In the same way Paul also said in (Ephesians 2:1-2.) Satan's heart is towards the disobedient people. The people out of innocence of salvation who are walking according to the world have passed away. Let us examine how are we? In (2Cor 4:4) we see God of this world hath blinded the minds of the terrorists of this present time they have a belief if they die in the purpose of their religion they reach to eternity that is the reason Muslims do have a strong faith to die in the name of their religion anywhere on the earth. But our lord Jesus Christ said the eternity is in him. His words are real. His words and works are true as Jesus said in (Luke 21:33) his words will not pass away but if we abide in our lord Jesus  who is our refuge we will be with him forever this is our hope this what word teaches us in (1st John 2: 16-17.)

What Jeremiah laments about for the people of Israel in  (lamentations 1:1) why is this city has been like this? The great Jerusalem.! This lamentations was written by Jeremiah. (lamentations 1:8 ) says city sinned against God. Before lord Jesus Christ 605 BC this is prophesized from so many years after coming out of Egypt still Israelites are not obeying to the God (Jeremiah 7:25). So many prophets were sent to them they never heard what God wanted to listen to them. So for their disobedience and  for their sins Jeremiah cries( Jeremiah 1:1 ) He cried for the promised land, we should also cry now! For the nations and the people who are yet to repent we need to kneel down in front of God for ourselves and ask his compassion on us.

Jeremiah wrote 1st & 2nd kings. In 2nd kings Jeremiah writes in 8th century by the disobedience of king Solomon who married lot of women who are gentiles and brought sin into his life and to his great kingdom. (Nehemiah 13:26) woman who caused sin into his life. Solomon broke the covenant of Gods holiness. Our God is a holy God he wants everyone to be holy. if we see in (2 kings 18:11-12) God made 10 tribes to fall into the hands of Assyrians and 1 tribe is called as Judah tribe, The people of the chosen generation. which went away from God as we see also in (2 kings 17:12) to end we read they served idols and broke the commandments, what are the commandments given to us by our god are we teaching to our children? God told that we should remind our children of our past life (Deut 32:7) Are we developing our Christ teachings in our child's life? Because gentile woman  they do not know how to be holy and make our families holy and children holy. In USA this is a Christian country earlier they had commandments in schools and bible teachings in schools they removed it because they started looking democracy. This is free country they can do anything. If we obey the commandments of God he will bless us, he will fight for us. We should teach our children more about this word that is everyone's responsibility. As God told to do that .(in Deut 6:4-11). God's words will be fulfilled, if we see our country india . India is mentioned 2 times in the book of Esther 1st chapter. But our country is against to God. According to bible teaching of Billy graham strategy at Germany they analyzed if 70,000 missionaries work in India for 5 yrs our India will become 90% Christianity oriented all will get the gospel.

So what did Jeremiah do he called upon people to mourn for this great disaster. (Jeremiah 9:17) God said to cry for the restoration. All have to cry out with grief (Jer 8:11) for the peace if we see around the world all want peace, but are we all peaceful ? in (lamentations 3:21 Jeremiah talks about the remnant of Israel. Still Jeremiah has hope and faith on the sovereignty of God. For the left out people of this world we are also called as the remnant of the Israel God is merciful towards us his compassion fail not. (Rev 18: 17).

God allowed the WTC tower to perish. On 9/11/01 Word of God is so true did you imagine what a technology of a plane could collapse a 20 yr old 110-floored building into ashes in a hour in (Rev 13:13) Satans works are unbelievable. In (Rev 13:8) we see that All dwell in the earth shall worship him once upon time .The country which said no bible no commandments in schools the same country yesterday called upon National prayer day and all leaders stood humbly in Gods prescence Bush recalls upon all people lets pray he recalls verses from psalm 23,&1 Corinthians. What a change! such a big disaster brings a great change? God is moving this is to remnant of Israel. Daniel wrote in 605 BC after 70yrs of slavery (Daniel 9:23) when the war happened Daniel was a little baby boy he lost his parents he came into this new kingdom and patiently waited on the God if we read Daniel 9th chapter. Daniel was a prayerful man. and Obeyed the covenant. Waited patiently. He prayed honestly, (Daniel  9:9).Though we have rebelled against Gods .God is still merciful. Jeremiah says Lord is my portion we also compare our life to Daniel because he was prayerful and obedient, one day God made him to be the ruler. We also if we trust in him and be in his covenant he blesses us abundantly we have to  be watchful, careful and be alert. (Mark 13:3) we should be very prayerful. We have  a compassion God he will show his mercy if we cry for his help.

To pray also we need laborers to work in his service God wants to uphold the workers we need to testify his word. When we cry to God and ask him to fill us with his spirit then lord will intercede with our leaders to agree to obey all his covenants,

so we all have to learn a lesson from this great tragedy Of Sept 11th 2001!!!!! .

are we in personal life in family life obeying Gods commandments?

Let us examine is our life pleasing God ?

As we approach Christmas, our thoughts turn to the Babe of Bethlehem. He was no ordinary Baby.

How was this Baby unique?

The Baby Jesus A baby's birth is announced by the parents. But His birth was announced by the angels and the prophets of old. A baby is born. But Jesus was born that we might be born again! A baby is the child of man but He was both the Son of man and the Son of God! A baby craves food. But He later said, " My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me and to finish His work." (John 4:24) A baby sleeps but He later spent nights in prayer while others slept! A baby rests, but He later said, " Come unto Me and I will give you rest!" (Matt. 11:28) A baby cries but He later "offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears" and He says to the weeping ones, "Weep not" A baby is born to die one day but He was born that by His death we might not die but have everlasting life! (John 3:16) A baby carries the resemblance of its parents but He was and is "the brightness of God's glory and the express image of His person." He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords!

 Yours in His grace,

by Dr Samuel Kumar.
