PUBLIC LIFE OF A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN

by- Miss. Helen H. Simon       Hyderabad    India

“So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty; for he is thy lord; and worship thou him.” Psalms 45: 11

“Thou are beautiful, o my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners.” Song of Solomon 6: 4

A beautiful woman needs to worship the king, as he greatly desires her beauty.

Therefore public life of a beautiful woman is to be a sacrifice of worship unto the Lord.

What does worship mean in her public life. Dictionary meaning of ‘PUBLIC’ is people or community as a whole, which means men, women and children of all ages. In our context, the life of a beautiful woman in the community need to be as worship unto the Lord for His glory. Her life, therefore is life from God, Life to God and life for

God.

What does worship mean? LIFE -

W        Worthy of calling

O            Offering and Obedience

R            Righteousness

S          Shining star with good works

H         holiness

I            Indwelling of the Spirit

P          Purity

PRE REQUISITES for WORSHIP

1          Fix Her eyes on Jesus

The First step of beautiful woman in public life is to fix her eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of her faith.

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Heb. 12: 2

2            Walking with God

The Second step of a beautiful woman in public life is to agree and walk with God. Can two walk together, except they agree? Amos 3:3

Walking is one of the activities in which all parts of the body are brought into play. They next step a beautiful woman need to take in her public life is to agree with GOD the Father,

to be able to walk together with Him. In Revised version Amos 3.3 it is written, “Do two walk together unless they have made an appointment? The actual Translation of the original Hebrew will be, “ Except they meet by appointment”. God meets her with appointment at the cross and fellowship and walking together with him only possible for her on the basis of that sacrifice. This intimate relationship of a beautiful woman with the cross of Christ is not just limited to the moment of her first encounter (conversion) with the Lord but His death touches her life at all points and at all times and is concerned with the deepest and most mature experiences of her redeemed soul. She needs to offer her soul and body as a living sacrifice to him so that he will meet with her and enable her to walk step by step in holy, happy and helpful fellowship with him. Therefore she needs to have daily communion with God through His word when God speaks to her and through prayer when she speaks to the Lord, it is impossible to walk with God and be guided by him step by step. This spiritual discipline is essential to her to worship the Lord and glorify His name through her life. People take time to discipline and condition their bodies to achieve vocational and corporate success. In the same way she needs to set apart a substantial period of time every day to condition her spirit. This is essential to seek empowerment to resist devil and release the best she has to give to those around her.

Time

Time is very precious but often it is misused. Some time it can be wasted on things, which may not be sinful, but they take the place of things, which would be more spiritually profitable. Ephesians 5:16 says, ‘Make good use of every opportunity you have, because these are evil days. Therefore a beautiful woman organizes her day and spends enough time in prayer, Bible study and witnessing for the Lord and produces the desired fruits. Business or office work, looking after children, and several other duties need to be done conserving enough time for prayer, Bible study and witnessing for the Lord Jesus. Sometimes so much time is spent on these secular things that enough time is not available for prayer and study of Bible or if she tries to squeeze sometime in for prayer, her mind is too tired and occupied with the work undertaken earlier, to concentrate on prayer. Bible study is also neglected and she also will not have time to witness for others. She needs to prune her time and get her priorities in right order to manifest her beauty to the Lord.

Thus after the beautiful woman has prepared herself with her gaze fixed on Jesus to manifest her beauty to the Lord has established herself to walk with the Lord, she will have a right attitude to worship the Lord, The King of Kings.

WORSHIP THE LORD

What does this mean in the Public Life of a Beautiful Woman.?

1.         Life worthy of calling Ephesians, 4 : 1-3

She needs to live a life worthy of calling she received. She needs to be completely humble and gentle; bearing with one another in love. She has to make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.

At the time of her birth into the kingdom of God, she becomes a partaker in the divine nature (2 Pet, 1: 4). Christ lives in her (Gal. 2: 20) and she is ever growing up into Him who is her life. As she constantly walks with him, she lives a life of progress, which means perpetual movement on an upward path with her experience in Him deepening and her knowledge of him becomes more and more influential. Then her attitude becomes the same as her master, Christ Jesus, an attitude of humility and obedience. (Phil. 2 : 5-8). She will live a life of love just as He loved us as she follows His example and imitates Him in her life. (Eph. 1-2)

Life worthy of God

Live a life worthy of God - Holy, righteous and blameless. She needs to be as a mother deals with her own children, encouraging, comforting. (1 Thes. 2 : 10-12)

Life worthy of Gospel

Whatever happens, she needs to conduct herself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. (Phil. 1 : 27 NIV)

Let your conversation be as it become the gospel of Christ ( Phil. 1 : 27 KJV)

Life of Offering and Obedience

She needs to live a life of complete surrender and commitment offering herself totally for Him. (Romans 12 : 1,2.)

Because of God’s great mercy to us I appeal to you : offer yourselves as a living sacrifice and pleasing to Him.... Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly, by a complete change of mind your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God - what is good and is pleading to Him and is perfect.

What does offering oneself as a living sacrifice mean? God does not want  dead animals as a sacrifice anymore. After the living sacrifice of our Lord, God wants a living sacrifice - a living body in which the Holy Spirit can live and do His work.

A Living Sacrifice

She has to offer her will

She needs to bring her will under the control of the Holy Spirit. She must yield her will to God. She must deny herself, by giving up the things she wants to do, if they are not pleasing to god. She must be willing to do the things He wants her to do. our Lord Himself set an example for us yielding His will to the father. he prayed “ yet not as I will but as you will.” The only way she can abide in Jesus and be progressive, is to say ‘here is my will, what do you want me to do, Lord?’ Then she will make the decisions He wants her to make.

She has to offer her mind.

Mind is that part which directs one’s thoughts, desires and intentions. So when she offers her mind to God, he fills her with good and pure thoughts, and intentions. He does it by giving her a new mind as written in Romans 12:2. In fact she is given the ‘mind of Christ, she is dependant upon Him and will have wonderful fellowship with Him. She also will have united fellowship with other children of God, because all have the same Christ like mind. In Acts 4:32 it is written ‘the group of believers were in one mind and heart. This removes the self centered mind which causes conflicts, envy, jealousy and ambition for self desires among the children of God and thus edifies the body of Jesus Christ which brings glory to God.

She must offer her body

When Jesus ascended into heaven he went with His human body. But when He sent the Holy Spirit to help the church to spread the good news of salvation, the Holy Spirit came without a body. He lives in bodies of God’s children. (John 14 : 17). Therefore a beautiful woman has to offer her body as a dwelling place of the Holy Spirit to be used by Him for God’s glory. In 1 Cor. 6 : 19, 20, Paul says, “Don’t you know your body is the temple of the Holy Sprit, who lives in you and who was given to you by God. Therefore she needs to allow the Holy Spirit to use the members of her body and therefore she cannot them any more herself.

She needs to offer the members of her body.

Her hands

She has to say, ‘Lord, I give my hands to you to do the things you want them to do.’ James writes in 4 : 8, ‘Wash your hands you sinners! Purify your hearts, you hypocrites !’ Psalmist says in 24:3, 4, ‘Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place? He that hath clean hands and a pure heart.’

Her Tongue

She needs to set aside her tongue for the use of the Holy Spirit. Peter says in 1 peter 3 : 10, ‘Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. ‘Foolish talk and coarse joking is improper to her as God’s holy person. (Eph. 5 : 4.) She has to use her tongue to worship, praise and to give thanks to the Lord and completely surrender to the Holy Spirit to be used for witness unto the Lord and to give good news to those who do not know the Lord.

Her Feet

Isaiah 52:7 tells us ‘How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publish the peace. Jesus walked around the villages of Palestine when he was in this world teaching and preaching. The Holy Spirit continues the work. She, therefore needs to offer her feet and tongue to Him to take the message of salvation to those who do not know Christ.

When she offers her will, mind and her body, then only He can use her for the spread of her kingdom. She will be able to totally depend upon Him and truly worship, Praise and give thanks to the king.

Life of Obedience

Obedience to His Commands.

She must obey what He Commands, if she loves Him. (John 14:4)

His Commandments are:

1.         ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and        with all your mind.’ (Mat. 22:37).

            2.            ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ (Mat. 22:39).

            3.            ‘Love each other as I have loved you.’

            4.            ‘Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you’. (Mat. 5:44)

Obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling of His blood.

We are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father through the sanctifying work of the spirit for the obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling of His blood. (1Pet. 1:2).

This means that apart from the first obedience to him and sprinkling of His blood, she needs to constantly go to Him for sprinkling of His blood because of her sinful flesh. She has to adopt a repentant life style which means that she constantly acknowledge her faults, mistakes and misbehaviour to Christ and others whenever necessary and possible. This is nothing but brokenness and humility in front of God and human. it is a way of life she needs to adopt and it is an attitude of spirit. If this life style is not practiced constantly, evil is likely to break out in almost any form in her thought life her words or her actions. Therefore she needs to be ready to name it acknowledge it and forsake it. John wrote in 1 John 2:1,” If any one sins we have an Advocate with the Father”. She needs to claim the promises in 1 John 1st chapter.

“But if you walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus, His son, purifies us from all sins.” (1 John 1:7)

“If we confess our sins He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

This repentant life style is essential for her to continue constant fellowship with God the Father.

Life of Righteousness

What is righteousness?

“He who does what is right is righteous, just as He is righteous.” (1 John 3:7).

Instrument of righteousness

“She needs to offer herself and parts of her body as instruments of righteousness. She has to live a life pleasing to God, as she died with Him and Christ lives in her.” 9Romans 6:13).

Fruits of righteousness

“So that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruits of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ-to the Glory and praise of God.” (Phil. 1:10,11)

Righteousness that comes from God.

“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become righteousness of God.” (2 Cor. 5:21)

“That I may gain Christ and be found in Him not having righteousness of our own that comes from the law but that which is through faith in Christ - the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith found in Him.” (Phil. 3:8,9).

She needs to consider everything as loss for the sake of Christ, a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus in her life. She needs to continue to work out her salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in her to will and to act according to His good propose. (Phil. 2:12, 13)

Life as a shining star with good works

“We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do. “ (Eph. 2:10)

As she is in Christ and Christ in her, God will make her to do good works, which God prepared in advance for her to do when she was saved by His grace.

“Let us not be weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” (Gal. 6:9, 10)

She needs to be helpful to people in need and the reward comes from above. People will see her good works and recognize the love of Jesus in her.

“Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven” (Mat. 5:16)

She needs to be a living witness to the Lord wherever Lord places her.

“Do everything without complaining and arguing so that you may become blameless and pure, Children of God without fault in a crooked & deprived generation in which you shine like stars in Universe.” (Phil 4:14, 15)

“Live such good lives among the pagans that though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” (1Pet. 2:12)

“Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of heaven and those who lead many to righteousness.” (Dan 12:3)

She needs to live a life of love, honesty, and integrity among the people God kept her, so that she will be a living witness to the Lord and many may come closer to the Lord.

Life of Holiness

She has to live a life of holiness, as the one who called her is holy. (1Pet. 1:15, 16).

She ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. Holiness is doing all within one’s power to become like Jesus. Holiness is seeing Christ in His completeness; doing all one can to pattern our life after His example. Holiness brings one closer to god. Holiness has to be lived not just to be talked about. Holiness is simply living near the heart of god. it creates an inner craving for more God. Holiness is something shared. Those walking close to God affect others. Therefore by living a life of holiness, a beautiful woman attracts and draws many around her to the Lord. Holy Spirit plays vital role in teaching holy living. She needs to make a constant effort - ever praying, always seeking - to gain the Spirits help. Holy living is a daily thing and to be seen every day. Holy living is essential preparation for prayer. Her life of holiness prepares her for her times of prayer.

“He saved us and called us for a holy life - not because of any thing we have done but because of His own purpose and grace.” (2Tim 1:9)

“God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in His holiness.” (Heb. 12:10)

Life with indwelling of Holy Spirit.

The spirit is the Spirit of power. he gives her power with God in prayer and intercession. He is responsible to empower her to show sympathy towards fellow humans and to do service for God.

“Live by the spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. (Gal. 5:16)

“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with Spirit.” (Gal. 5:22, 23, 25)

Holy Spirit produces love for God and fills our hearts with love. Romans 5:5 tells us, God has poured out his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit who is God’s gift to us. He helps her to love the Lord her God with all her heart, with all her soul and with all her mind. She will love to Worship God. As she loves God she wants to serve Him.

Cultivating Relationships

When the love of god is in her heart she will pray for others, and want to do all she can to help others to find Lord Jesus as their saviour. She will show her concern with kind deeds, because she loves them. Love and Joy are closely linked together. Jesus said, “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My commandment is this: Love one another, just as I love you.” (John 15:11, 12).

She is accountable to look out for the spiritual interests and development of fellow believer’s in Christ and they are also called to do the same. Holy Spirit helps us love and bear one another and also helps us to develop some significant personal relationships that offer mutual accountability. Development of each other is done through the Holy Spirit by encouraging each other and affirming each other when there is spiritual growth. When one shows the evidence of substandard performance, by rebuking and holding each other to the standard of godly character. This type of a fellowship that enables us to grow towards Christ likeness is one of the most valuable things one can ever have in life.

Service to God

When love of God is poured out into her heart by the Holy Spirit, she wants to serve the Lord and love to spend time doing His work. She wants to tell others about him. She loves to give her time and money to help spread the good news about Him. She responds to His love with wholehearted concentration, thus following His steps.

Life of Purity

“Religion that god our father accepts as pure and faultless is this - to look after orphans widows in their distress to keep oneself from polluted by he world.” (James 1:27)

A beautiful woman need to keep herself pure without getting involved with the worldly traditions, religious taboos and any other worldly customs.

Purification of heart by faith

“He made no distinction between Jews and gentiles, for he purified their heart by faith” (Acts 15:9)

Purification to do what is good

“While we wait for the blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” (Titus 2:13, 14)

Purification by Obeying the Truth

“Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.” (1Pet. 1:22)

Purification due to hope

“Every one who has this hope in Him purifies himself as He is pure.” (1John 3:3)

“Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God” (Mat. 5:8)

Finally a beautiful woman has to keep her heart pure by faith and obeying the truth which is the word of God and to do good, care for poor and needy, so that see can eagerly wait for the King when He comes to see Him face to face and worship Him.
